I can’t believe that Chuck is still on the air. I’m not sure how they are doing it. I only know about a handful of other people that admit that they still watch it. I’ve been having a hard time being motivated to watch Chuck but when I do make time to watch it, I always enjoy it. I’m not sure why I feel it’s a chore to watch. The show is still funny. The show still has action and adventure. I think I get fatigued with it because of the sheer amount of episodes. The fourth season had TWENTY FOUR episodes. I’ve been tortured with such short seasons of other shows and cancellations that twenty four episodes per season seem like an eternity. Other people must be feeling the strain too. Chuck has been renewed for a fifth season but it is official that this will be the final season.

I never want any science fiction or geeky show to get canceled but I was certain that Chuck would get the axe at the end of the fourth season. I’m glad they didn’t. I was as upset with them killing Chuck’s dad (Scott Bakula) as I was with them killing off Clark Kent’s dad on Smallville. Sarah and Chuck not being a couple for the first three seasons was almost as annoying as Lana and Clark with the “will they? won’t they?” schtick. Sarah and Chuck quit torturing us and finally became a couple, made plans to get married and held the ceremony all in one season. I’m glad they didn’t drag it out. John Casey’s wife finally knows that he’s alive and is a CIA agent. We don’t know what it means for the character but it’s interesting. Linda Hamilton as Chuck’s mom is still a treat. I’m glad to see her on the show. Timothy Dalton as the big bad Alexei Volkoff was a nice touch. I’ve been a fan of his comeback ever since I laid eyes on him as the Time Lord President in Doctor Who. Lauren Cohan as Vivian Volkoff was also a nice addition. I’ve been a fan of hers since seeing her in Supernatural and Vampire Diaries.

The main gist of this season was for Sarah and Chuck to get married, take down Alexei Volkoff, take down Vivian Volkoff and for Ellie to figure out her dad’s computer. Ellie figured it out and somehow The Intersect was taken out of Chuck and put into Morgan. He now knows Kung Fu. The next season will be wild!

Chuck returns Fridays this fall at 8/7c on NBC.
