I don’t get all political when it comes to race and Hollywood casting. I watch what I like, period. However, even I was shocked when I saw that “Undercovers” has two black leads and it isn’t a show on one of the minor channels like CW or MyTV. It’s a mainstream show on NBC. Wow. Having Obama in the White House does work miracles :-).
Funny! Carl from Robotcast expressed interest in this show as well. I’m a bit worn out on spy shows but if enough people say the show is good, I’ll watch.
I am burned out on spy shows (Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, Rubicon) but I am going to watch and support Undercovers. I been bitching and complaining about the lack of shows with black leads in them, so I can’t skip it. I just hope that it’s good.
“Wow. Having Obama in the White House does work miracles :-)” Not to get all political, but M.A.N.T.I.S. was around way before Obama ;) We need more shows like that (M.A.N.T.I.S) in the sci-fi genre. I’ll give Undercovers a shot for the sole reason that, for my tastes, there haven’t been enough -good- spy shows on lately, so we’ll see if this can deliver.
Undercovers is okay. Overall, it’s unspectacular, but it’s good in some ways and has potential.
