I’m taking a course. The assignment was to take a mannequin and decorate it inspired by an artist, a culture or art style. We were told that we could do ANYTHING that we wanted. The first thing that came to my mind was steampunk! I had a lot of fun with this project but it was very stressful. I didn’t procrastinate on it but life happens so I didn’t start on the project until 2/15/09. The project had to be turned in on 2/17/09.
The piece is called “Making Love”; a twisted guy needs love and tries to create a women for himself.

This is what I started out with; a bunch of loose, crazy materials. Some of the materials are brass pipes fixtures, antique buttons, antique watch, skeleton keys, lace, suede, wool, satin, cotton, glass heart, glass buttons, wire and plastic tubing (yes, I know). The mannequin was drafted using manila paper and hardened with paper mache’ then covered in muslin.
I nominate @busshow for a Shoy Award in #steampunk because John will be bothered by it http://bit.ly/shoy
I vote for @CaptianRobe for a Shoy Award in #steampunk because he and the rest of Abney Park got me into Steampunk. http://bit.ly/shoy
Really delighted that @daphnedeboer is enjoying her steampunk notebook.

@NinjaCatfish It’d also be easier to get some funky case mods going. Though, I have seen a sweet steampunk Mac Mini case mod!
