I still have a soft spot for Terra Nova. The cancellation still stings. Sure, it had its issues but they were working on them. Sure, some of the story made no damned sense but it’s a new world, we forgave them their unrealistic, time-travelling parallel Earth faux pas. Sure, the series had an unsustainable budget but it was worth it. There was still a story to be told. There were DINOSAURS. There were prehistoric bird migrations. There were re-breathers. There was a post-apocalyptic Earth marred by pollution. There was a Stargate that we were not allowed to call a Stargate. There was a crazy son scribbling stuff on rocks in GOLD. There were shirtless men running around doing stuff… in the jungle! How could anyone NOT love this show? Maybe we’ll get a show on this scale again and it will last, maybe not, but it was good (at least to me) while it lasted.
Terra Nova aired on FOX and now is canceled.

I vaguely remember the pilot episode, or at least the first few minutes of it taking place in the future, having mind-blowing visuals. I was surprised in future episodes that a show that cost that much didn’t have better story lines. It’s almost like they were daring someone to cancel them. But, even the stories got a little better. And, while you had shirtless men in the jungle, the guys had the beautiful Shelley Conn, Naomi Scott, and Allison Miller, playing Dr. Elisabeth Shannon, Maddy Shannon, and Skye Tate, respectively. I think the show could have gotten better with a 2nd season.
I agree with the sentiment that they were daring someone to cancel the show. The last episode with the main guy running from a dinosaur and the action hero pyrotechnics in the background was the lowest point. I quite enjoyed the baby dinosaur but a lot people had a problem with it.
